I bit a bit of cuticle off and wondered
bleeding what it might look like magnified a
hundred thousand times. I flicked a farthing

to the best busker in all the universe and wandered
home with rushing-watermill ears. I could see Esther
in three mirrors, cool with personality and oily reflections

reflected as if lifting lightfall. As if I’d just met her
three times again. My fingernail’s bleeding I said
and close-up it would look probably red and pink.

Of all the musics you have ever got
Please please please tell me
which have you found the sweetest?
