Agate is

round and sharp as a cherry
her eyes hid
as clear-shelled eggs
rising yellow
hair through dark
and chin – knee – lip –
dotted silver
her hands closed small
she’s a nun
she’s a nurse
she’s nice
tightly clicked
in a land of wide places –
come around, come here.
